    Sunday = Detail day.

Thought it was a while since I put a few pictures up. Had a big day today cleaning 2 x Golfs.

My daughter's MKIV was filthy after not getting a wash for at least 6 weeks. To make things worse not one, but two branches from the Cocos palms we have in the front yard decided to let gravity do it's thing during the past week. And of course both of them hit the Golf.

    Scratch1

    C Pillar scratch

Along with general wear and tear of a ten year old car ...

    Scratch 2

So after a snowfoam and hand wash with two buckets I set about a paint correction with Mint pads and Menzerna polishes.

A big shout out to John Robbo @ Tigersoft Performance for getting me into some new sealants and quick detailers. I used one coat (for now) of Final Inspection's Full Metal Jacket. I have used Duragloss product before and found the FMJ even easier to apply. No buffing required. Also you hardly use any of it. I plan to put another coat on next weekend and then I'll see how long it lasts.

A while later I had these shots by comparison ...

    No sign of scratch 1

C Pillar scratch has created a small dent but is a lot less visible now.

    Scratch 2 gone

    And the finished article....

    A few obligatory reflection shots...

After finishing the MKIV I needed to give our MKVI GTI a quick wash as it has been a fortnght since it was done, and with the s**t Sydney weather recently it was filthy.

Time for some snow foam fun...

The same two bucket wash as the MKIV and then I used Final Inspection's Gloss Boost quick detailer once it was dry. Applied by squirting two shots on a pocket microfibre pad and wiping over one panel at a time. Simple wipe with a plush microfibre paint cloth and the paintwork looks like it is still wet. I'm very happy with the ease of use and the look of my car with this stuff on. It rocks!!

Decided to try some HDR on this last one so its not a true representation.

Thanks if you got his far.

It's much easier when the cleaning and detailing of the car is rewarding.

btw I love the "over the top" details that HDR Photography gives to car shots.

    Thanks guys.

Yes its very rewarding after you have just put in six hours of car cleaning to look at the way they shine.

Not so cool when you can only get one of them under cover and it rains shortly afterwards.

Still, at least the beading shows that the sacrificial layer *is* actually there
