Well, lets see. My family always had older cars. So it is of no surprise that I kept it that way for a while in between a few boring cars..

    1970 Mini K - project that i never finished.
    1980's AE82 Corolla - daily for a while.
1962 Morris Mini Panel van - 848cc's of grunt - finished up with a 1300, disc brakes, huge stereo, all the usual stuff
1971 Ford Capri - 40,000 miles, second owner from new. Still had the original tyres on it.
1992 Honda Accord - still a really nice car, silly cornering ability with a mods.
1978 Leyland Mini 1275LS. 92,000 kms, with service manuals and orginal sales receipt. I ketp it visually standard, but with a honking 1293 engine that had 80hp at the wheels. Heaps of grunt for 600kgs.

Then i went and bought myself a dirt bike - couldn't tow it with the mini, so a 1995 XR6 Falcon Wagon came along. My brother still has it. BEST tow car hands down.

I got tired of the fuel bill, so bought the GTI. That stayed standard for almost a month hahaha

    I want another Mini...
    Cheap, Fast, Reliable. Choose two.

I've had a few different ones before I even turned 20

First - 1986 VK Commodore - Wasn't much of a show pony, especially when driving to school when others had corollas and mazdas. Still had fun in it though, also was a manual which were pretty hard to find. Hub cap flew off while driving funny enough. Also when i bought it, it came with bright and shiny metallic pink car mats.

Second - 1994 Volkswagen mk3 Golf - Again wasn't much to look at but was a good little reliable car. Went all right too.

But it just didn't have the character of this:

Third car - 1976 Citrus Red Volkswagen Golf mk1 LS - Now this was a fun car. Didn't matter if it was rain, hail or shine, I always got blast out of driving it. Miss her everyday, but just didn't have the facilities, money or time at my age to do her justice, guy who bought it is going to put a passat motor in it, nearly made me cry as it's so original. Also got a letter that he handed in the original plates .

Current car - 2.0Lt mk2 golf GTI - This car was intended to be a bit more civilised everyday run about with a bit of work that I could handle. Not to say the I ever had an issues with my mk1 (i didn't) but I needed a car that I could drive regularly and not have my folks worry about safety

What she will look like in a fortnight when I get the valance:

Hopefully I can own a few more mk1's and even a GTI before I bight the dust.
