Yes! More mk5s should be done like this is Aus! This is what I'd do if I had the cash. Love it mate, keep it up.

Alright, so i havent updated this in awhile, been busy with uni.

Havnt really done much but a couple days ago i took off the sideskirts, rear lower valence and front lip to paint it hopefully this weekend or next. I got my paint ready and pulling out my spray gun ps. the sideskirts and lower rear valence were a b*tch to remove.

*excuse the dirty floor, had just washed the car

Also my new set of wheels came in yesterday.

Custom 3 piece BBS LM in 18"

Fresh inner barrels and outer lips. Fronts 18x8.5 et35 and rears 18x9.5 et 35.

    Test fitted them today:

Yep! thats all for now will post up pics once the parts are painted

So ive always wanted to colour code my front lip, sideskirts and rear valence. A friend wanted me to paint his roof, front bar and front lip on his honda civic over the easter break so i thought i might as well do my colour coding too.
So the week before the last i took off my sideskirts, rear valence and front lip..FAROUT the sideskirts are a paint to remove but i eventually got them off.

So over the weekend, i sprayed my friends civic. It wasnt the best weather but we had a deadline so we decided to make my shelter into a ghetto spray booth lol. We ended up finishing on the Saturday afternoon as i needed to get the house cleared out before my parents came back from overseas on Sunday morning.

Anyways, with my car already sitting in the backyard for more than 10 days not being driven cause i dont want to be seen with missing trims on my car, i decided to get to work and colour code everything. So as everyone knows, the MKV has the textured rear valence, sideskirts and front lip. I really didnt want the textured look/feel cause it looks pretty bad imo..i read up on it and people said to sand back the whole thing...it takes 8 hrs to do it with a orbital sander or 20hrs by hand lol. I would die trying to do it.

So i firstly sprayed spray putty yesterday, wasnt too sure how it would turn out..i took a risk with this. Then i sanded it back today and it was SMOOTH! i was so happy with the result. Although no perfectly smooth, it was good enough for me. So i went ahead and sprayed and cleared it. Completed the lot by 6pm today! had to use a light as my source of heat lol.

Oh ps, i also fixed the votex front lip and sprayed it too..

Heres the primer and smoothened out

    first coat..

    Result:

I know theyre bad photos but yeah. I'll give it a few days before sanding it back and buffing it. Hope to get it fitted on the car by Friday.

ALSO..my new wheels came in today..
    teaser for y'all..

Not sure if anyone looks at this but yeah..

So the paint dried but not completely..usually takes 3-7 days to properly dry..

Also got tyres fitted onto my wheels! heres the test fit!

Got everything fitted today! sideskirts, front lip, rear valence! note: paint has not been buffed back

Oh and heres my wheels: SSR Schwarz Varden Sport

    I kinda like this shot

As you can see, the fronts arent flush..so i'll be ordering 10 or 12mm spacers in order to push them out further

Overall, im happy with the outcome and it looks much better than before with black sides, front and rear..heres a before shot for comparison
