Was waiting on some parts from ECStuning then finally got the wheels fitted.
Ended up purchasing new tyres for my stock wheels and new tyres for the work wheels. Heart aching process lol
I firstly fitted 225/40/18 tyres all around and it was abit too wide for my front wheels and the tyres were poking past the guards abit..
Here are the rears. Manageable since theres rear camber adjustment
I took it for a drive as is and it was scrubbing on the front end abit on bumpy roads.
I considered pulling out the guard roller to roll and flare the front guards but i thought if i could get away without having to do so, it would be better.
So i went back to my tyre shop and asked them to swap out the front tyres to 215/40/18. Now it fits somewhat better..less poke
I have yet to test drive it with the 215/40/18s but it should be fine now..if anything, i might give it a slight roll.
Ended up selling the Work VS-XX as i didnt have enough dish for my liking..
Next up my airlift kit came in and i installed them. It took me a fair abit of time as my neighbour complained i was making too much noise when installed them lol so i had to put it off for awhile.
I also got R32 tail lights, not 100% sure i like them yet lol.
I also did a quick boot setup to stop it all from moving. Used the spare wood i had in the shed. Still yet to finish the false wood
New wheels to come, still trying to find the right set..
Had a list of wheels i was thinking of getting:
BBS Impuls
CCW Classics
BBS LMs
SSR Professor SP1s
3pc OZ Carlssons
OZ Futuras
Still yet to find the right size..
I picked up a sound system..
Plus 2 pairs of new speakers(not shown) it was all too cheap to pass on..
Also as you can see in the last pic^, i made a false floor for it, drilled holes above where the air compressor is to let it breathe..and finally, today i covered it in carpet..black carpet. I did have the grey carpet (from when i made my boot setup in my E46) that matched the OEM carpet but i didnt have enough. I only had some left over black carpet from another build of mine and it turned out good IMO. I also left it slightly longer so that it went over the tank, hiding it. I then tried to think of ways to make the handle to lift up the false floor. I tried using carpet but looked ugly imo. So i grabbed an old leather belt and cut that up so heres the results!
And also, i picked up a Votex front lip. Its damaged abit and i plan to fix it up soon and run it
That is all! thanks guys
So heres the pics of the speakers i got..
Hope to install all this soon..just got to buy the fascia and harnesses..
Also i fitted my temporary wheels today. Theyre 17x8 and 17x9 et35 all around with 215/45/17 tyres all around. Not happy with the front tyre size as it stops me from airing out completely. So i may either have to pull out my guard roller or get some 205/45/17s. That said, they are my temporary wheels with some fitment.
Work Equip Voggards - Rare and funky!
As you can see, the front are being held up by the tyres..
Once that harness and canbus arrived, i tackled installing my sound system and omg..it was a long and tiring process. Maybe it was cause i was trying to make everything look neat as possible.
With the 3 door, it meant i have to remove the rear seat and rear trim to change the speakers which = pain.
All in all, it took me 2 whole days almost to get it complete. That was with one minor hiccup, my headunit kept showing 'amp error' but luckily it was just one wire that needed changing.
Im very pleased with the result and glad i was able to keep all my steering wheel functions (unlike all my old cars)
During that time, i picked up a Forge BOV..still not sure whether i want to fit it or not as im not sure how it'll sound like with the DSG..i might just give it a shot and if i dont like it, remove it again..
During the week, some wheels showed up at my door..a quick test fit:
Didnt really feel them so they were sold off the next day.
Yesterday i picked up an exhaust and decided to do a resonator delete. Been meaning to do it but again, unsure how it'll sound like. Not wanting to chop up my original one, i went and got another exhaust and pulled out my trusty welder. Turned out alright me thinks!
And today, i fitted the exhaust.. was a pain in the arse doing it alone but ended up swapping them within an hour..
Heres the before video:
Here is the after video:
Not sure how i feel about it though, i like it, but not sure if i love it..maybe a couple more drives will change my mind..
And a couple pics for good the fun of it
Love what you've done eith the car so far
