So i spent most of saturday washing, cutting, buffing and polishing my GTI and thought i would go out and take afew pics of it as it is probably shiner than it ever will be
Need to take a better camera next time i go out at night because there wasnt enough light so there are only afew good ones...
Thinking about getting rid of that rear wiper

mk4 the mods begin for round 2 hahahha
Im still trying to figure out a way of getting the glass off
well there is a list of things i want to do with it, but they are all money permitting, otherwise i would do them all asap!
-cold air intake
-turbo back exhaust
-chip
-rims (id love BBS CH black, but i dont have $5000 for just rims)
-then some coil overs
thats afew of the things i want to do, apart from litle things here and there
Haha hey Evan. Mate, if only I knew you had a Mk4 GTI, I would've had a lot more things to talk about during our classes haha.
The GTI's clean as though, it does definitely look like you found a keeper.
As for removing headlight lens, I removed my Mk3 ones by cutting the silicon first (or what you see of it), put it in the oven for 1.5 minutes then try and carefully pry the headlight lens off the housing using a taped up flathead. I found it to be easier trying to pry from the side - it gave me the leverage to rip the damn thing apart from the housing.
Yer i saw your write up ray on the lens removal, and i have tried both the oven and heat gun trick with no luck. The problem is is that the MK4 lenses are held into the plastic casing more so than the MK3 by the look of your pics. The plastic case comes oer the glass lens on my MK4 and the silicone is down inside there, so it is rather difficult to get at. by the look of your pics, your plastic stopped when the glass lens started... i think i will start up a thread for tips on this, otherwise im just butchering BUB20V's old headlights
Sorry for another off-topic post, but I think a really easy solution for your headlights would be to ''soak'' the crevices with mineral turpentine. It eats at the silicone making it easy to remove, and if you dig at it with small, thin instruments like a flathead then you'll be able to get enough off and soak the rest of the crevices to lift it off.
Good luck And nice car
