Passat 1.8T K04 | Audi A3 1.8T | Bora 4Motion
Congratulations I enjoy my 1.4 TSI.
Same engine as the GT Sports? i.e 170hp twincharged?
DSG or manual?
I can't see the 1.4 Jetta listed on the VWA site.
that radio looks different also.
What country you in, boogz?
We only get 2.0 litre Jettas here in Australia.
And yes, that's a head unit I've never seen in Oz.
2007 Golf GT | DSG | TR | roof | iPod rubbish | R line fog grilles | R satin mirror caps | R pedals | R console trim | colour coded GTI valences | R32 Ormanyts
Nice one ... well done ... good luck ... and welcome
R36 > MK5 2006 1.9 TDI > MK4 2003 1.6 Generation > MK3 1995 2.8 VR6 > MK2 1990 1.6 > MK1 1982 1.8 GTI
Yeah, funny story. About mid October I had on order the 2.0L FSi but my dealer rang to tell me that they we're no longer taking orders for them. He said it was being replaced with the 1.4 twincharged motor instead. The head unit is the first of it's kind in Australia too, I quite like this one as the one in in my dad's Jetta didn't really appeal to me. I went the DSG, due to my wife refusing to drive manual but to make me feel better it's now 7 gears!?!?!
I've owned it for nearly two weeks and have clicked up 800km!!! I'm finding it a joy to drive. A bit bumpy with the 18's (which is to be expected) but the pull on this thing blows my mind for such a small motor and the body it's pulling.
Compared to the 2.0, I find the 2.0 has like a slingshot momentum as compared to the 1.4, it just hauls a$$!! I've surprised a few other Jetta owners around Sydney as they look at the TSi badge with curiosity and realise this ain't no ordinary Jetta. But I'm sure over time they'll get popular and common.
No suprise in the fuel economy, as mentioned I've done about 800km and only filled the tank once since delivery. The day I picked it up it had about 3/4 tank in there.
More pics to come when I get around to it. I'm a photographer by trade. My friend took those photo's the day I picked it up, he owns a 2007 Golf GTi. He was very impressed.
I'm still new to VW, but I'm guessing TSi being Turbo-Supercharged Injected is the intended acronym, where as the meaning of FSi is Fuel Stratified Injection. Your's would be a Turbo FSi (which would be ton's of fun). I don't know the answer to that, but would be keen to see what they do...
