    Hi boys
    Thanks on comments.
what did I do it was preatty easy.
Bought damaged diesel TDI 1996 from Adelaide ( afther long time searching) wasnt worth fix it,big LHS hit, brought here in Sydney,so search continued for new body...
Afther looking 5-6 cars ( another 5-6 months searching) decide for this one now 1997 GL all power options...
    TDI Didnt had any options...
So pull apart GL,take front end off, eng, gearbox, wiring ECU,imobilezer (didnt change locks only chip inside the key) spedo, exsaust, hidraulic clucth, fuel tank with lines,,and move everything safely on the side (if the conversion not working so I can put back..) lucky I didnt need it so did sell some and get some money for lights and blinkers..

Start pulling TDI aparts and straight on new ( GL body) wiring, spedo, exsaust, fuel tank (45 litres diesel was i it) with lines,...then the of course hart with transmision...so next step was key in the barell and ...bang I did it.
So next step was blue sleep and rego...and a bit of TLC and extra lights
So this TDI has got all GL options, rear discs, front vented discs, power mirors, windows, extra sunroof...but only one thing I couldnt get is cruise control...

I was so excited to finish the car earlier so left that for the end and afther all this work...to much mucking around, maybe next time,,

    Oli

few pics when is nice and clean (washing cars can be up to $200 here in Sydney west)

front TDI is off T4 ....(sorry mate)

and what do you say for the side badge, personaly I love it

    Neat conversion

You were very lucky to find a wrecked Tdi!
What about the radiator? Is the diesel's bigger? And a/c and power steering? Any probs there?

That's a great conversion and an inspiration to all of we dieselers.

    Yes mate I know
Took me nearly 2 years active searching.
I missed one in ACT ( yes I been searching in all states) so afther that one,
one was adwertised in Paramatta on car yard...$12500.
Next day we went there to have a look and it wasnt there anymore,it was sold...
Radiator,a/c,power steering, evertyhing is the same, only one one A/C pipe was diferent ,because TDI has got intercooler there...
So on the end I got it..

I thought this one would stir brackie out of the depths of his engine bay! lol. It would be an interesting read on the conversion. Was it as painfull as it looks clean?

So you are the ""lucky"" vw driver
Thanks for the picture I will add to rest of them.
If everthing was like intercooler you would still have this car-not a scratch on intercooler.
even a tow truck driver took the intercooler of so he wouldnt loost on the road.
    Hope you are ok.
Next time dont leave full tank....LOL
    Cheers
    Oli
