I was lucky that my employer wanted to use photos of my MY19.5 Golf R for their website. So I detailed it and they shot it in their car photography studio.

You did a good job with the carbon clean. Did you walnut blast it or use another method? Do the intake ports come like that from the factory (eg ported) or did you do that while all the parts were off?
I used a medium grit to strip the carbon off initially the. Used a fine grit to give it some way of polishing. The smoother you can get it the less likely you will build it up.
The main concern is not the port it self but more of the valve.
