Soo, car now sounds like a clapped out old commodore the rear muffler has developed a nasty rattle in between 1200-2200rpm. Not really too surprising, the muffler hangs pretty low and has copped its fair share of abuse. Hopefully it's just the tip and I don't have to replace the whole back box.
Just thought I'd share how the engine bay looks atm. Not much has changed just a general tidy up and covered the airbox in CF vinyl for extra kw's
R32 brake setup is being finalised, gearbox is down in Adelaide getting the full treatment and waiting on Gavin to fit me in for some data logging fun times ahead!!

Hey Lito, stupid question I know but: what is that black and silver pipe? Is that a CAI?

Pretty sure here.
So I should have everything for the brake upgrade by the weekend (just waiting on rear discs, pads and carrier spacers). As I've bought used calipers the pistons needed resetting. Fronts are simple and just push back in with a c-clamp, while the rears are a little more difficult. Because the rears have an integrated hand brake the pistons need to be twisted clockwise as they are pushed back in. This isn't too much of a hassle as most cars are like this so I could easily buy a universal tool to from supercheap auto. Well, when they say 'universal' what they really mean is everything except vw I ended up 'customising' it by cutting two tabs of the biggest side (the top left and bottom right tabs in the photo)
Piston reset, black on yellow May not have been the wisest choice haha
Fronts with pads mocked up
I have a question regarding the pads. Is the one closest the piston supposed to be held in place by anything? The outside one is held in place by the clip but the one next to the piston just sits there loose. I've never done brakes before so this may be a stupid question.
And one last photo to show the size of these calipers, gotta be twice the size of the gti ones
