Have you sided out the south bend clutch kits? I have one in mine and really happy with it. Quieter than the suches clutch kit I had.

Yeah, I can't wait . I've also found a gearbox that I'll be sending down to Adelaide to get my wavetrak installed need moar grip even with the base tune! Also gonna be ordering a new clutch, got my eyes on an fx400. Where do people recommend buying these from? I was thinking ECS but their shipping is insane. I think 034 and IE stock them as well but I don't know of anyone else. Also would I be able to keep my current flywheel with the fx400? Or will I need a different one?

YAY I got my R!!!! White, recaro seats, 19" wheels, bluetooth, reverse camera
just read 37 pages... jeepers you had some big ups and downs!!
look forward to the finished product when ever that is... 2016?? lol
looking great so far with the mesh in the R32 bar certainly makes it look neater and will protect the cooler from stray debris when driving all the way from home to Gavin's place haha!!
just making me want a mk4 GTI more and more...even with all the silly problems they seem to get they seem worth it
Haha thanks mate. It has been a labour of love but I wouldn't have it any other way. It's ready for the full tune now, just gotta find the time to do some data logging. You should get a mk4 they are sooo much fun to mess around with and quite cheap now too. Beastly little motor that 1.8t
the only thing I am concerned with is the reliability of them as a daily(only planning the usual minor mods to wake it up and make it handle well, but the bug always bites haha). It is the big thing that everyone craps on about. but from the look of it. its no worse than any other car of its type everything just starts wearing out and failing as everything seems to have on yours over the course of the thread.
I guess you just have to stock up on wear items from overseas to save the most money incase they fail early and you have to buy local over inflated prices.
if you are heading up to Narangba I would be keen to have a look at yours as I live here too.
Yeah they're just like any car really, once the hit the 10yr mark a lot of consumables have to be replaced. In saying that, a lot of the parts I have replaced wouldn't have needed to be replaced if wasn't pushing this much power through the chassis. I'm not up at narrangba much but next time I'm up at gavs I'll let you know!
look forward to seeing some good video of the tuned finished product like we see of all those european and yank ones!!
I want to see this on full tune! You going to head to a lakeside laps when it's done?
I wouldn't be too worried about using it daily. My S3 is my daily doing 450-500 Kms a week and is fairly modified. It loves it! I change the oil every 5000 Kms. These 1.8Ts are pretty reliable, age is against them but
So spare gearbox and wavetrak have been sent to Adelaide. Can't wait to lay some elevens
