had your fair share of mk 1's. respect.
that blue one looks pretty full on. details?? on any for that matter?
The blue one is the reason i ended up with a few Mk1's as back then i didnt know about the internet which made my world very small and difficult for parts.
Im sure il find a few more pics of another few i had aswell
It wasnt anything too exciting .......1.9ltr , single 45dcoe webber ,5spd and a few things like cam and electric ignition. I loved it to death and kinda makes me want to get another one as the throaty sound you could hear from the carbi sucking in air under WOT was cool and it was fun to drive![]()
Scanned a few more ..................Kinda scary at the time seeing that i totaly passed the point of no return and was young ,stupid and had little money
If i had my time again with it i would have done alot of things differntly but beeing the first car i ever painted and never having picked up any spray gear befor i lernt as i went , i think i did ok.
I had a Golf out at a friends property for a while i absoluetly tortured the poor thing and it was the cause of alot of weekends of fun ploughing through small trees ,shallow creeks and even getting it up onto 2 wheels when a tyre came off while the car was sideways off a trackIt had a carbie that i "made fit" to the inlet by die grinding it while it was still in the car ,lots of duct tape and a can of WD40 to either make things move or to try n get water out of things after hitting a creek at the wrong angle......Fun days and with all those memories how could i not buy another golf.
BLUE one is the best looking MK1
R36 > MK5 2006 1.9 TDI > MK4 2003 1.6 Generation > MK3 1995 2.8 VR6 > MK2 1990 1.6 > MK1 1982 1.8 GTI
yea I reckon! Sometimes the only way to learn is by doing!
best scrap this mk 4 business and get another mk 1!![]()
Wow sounds like you've had a GREAT run with your mk1's mate, that's inspiration in itself!![]()
