So i finally bit the bullet after a lot of low balling offers for the LO400 decided, meh put it in. Along with this i had my gearbox modified with a spigot bearing/extended shaft to lessen the play/movement through the clutch (SMF) and hopefully allow smoother/quicker changes especially at higher revs (5-7k), which in turn should benefit the turbo hopefully a little as well. I did notice much less vibration throughout the car since doing this as i do have the VWR mounts in (quite sometime now). New SMF LOBA Kit in to make sure everything is 100%.
Other things were also done, wheels came off and got soda blasted & repainted. Major service+timing service, rear calipers finally painted (professionally), and a list of other bits and pieces of 'refreshers' you could say as i like to make sure the car is spot on.
Car feels good, haven't had it for long and we haven't got any results. Will give it a little to run in and adapt properly and i will give it back to Arthur to run some more logs, dyno it and go from there. Power wise who knows i would say from 210-to pushing my luck to 230? - however i do say 230 as Marcus with his K04-Hybrid and his S3 made 231 @ all four wheels in the recent months. But who knows! Power is much more linear and continues right up throughout the rev range, and also sounds very different on boost (induction/spool noise).
Will try get results soon so can see what these actually do and do not make for kw & torque figures.
That is it, no more for the car. May consider to sell it next year as well, who knows!
super high quality iphone picture.
Couple pictures, but not many. I couldn't be bothered to take any for once.
So to make sense of what is done;
LOBA LO400 + RS4 Injectors Fitted
GIAC Tune to suit
R&R Gearbox + LOBA SMF Clutch Kit + custom spigot bearing/and extended shaft which in turn allows quicker shifting at higher rpm and less movement (Sam was the first to do this with his MK6 GTI).
Forge Throttle Body Hose fitted
Neuspeed Intercooler / Pancake Pipes fitted
BBS CK's got soda blasted, few nicks repaired and repainted.
Intake Manifold cleaned again (Refer to other thread)
Major Service+timing service
Rear calipers FINALLY painted to match. (yes.... with plastidippp........)
And other things and pieces were done and i also installed a front & rear dash cam (FineVU CRHD500 front and BlackVue for rear)
Big thanks to Arthur @ Exoticars for organising, the GIAC tune, and also getting it altogether. Even though the car lived there lol, but that is the game we play. Tuning/Modifications.
