My camera really struggles at taking good photos in the dark so i only managed to get a few alright photos.

There were some really clean rides there. A cruise through the twisties some time would prove to be good fun

Sorry I didn't really stick around too long, I wasn't really in a sociable mood. I hate being rude but wow, I just want to say that not all BMW owners are like the guys that were there the other night. I really don't see why people go to car meets and then BS their mouths off to enthusiasts that can tell quite easily that the person is lying. "My old man has a CSL.. I drive it pretty much everyday and we spent like 20k on the suspension, it sits hell low" Enough ranting, here are the photos.

That was after I left I guess.

    He seemed ok to me...

The guy with the Turbo 318/328 was fine. It was a bit weird that he put a 328i motor in a 318i and turbo'd it but then had a 6sp and a m3 diff.. The motor swap and turbo is the cheap option for a smaller power gain. If you want decent power and are doing everything properly and cleanly then you'd usually go a m3 / 330 motor and supercharge it. Fair enough if you want to save money, it's not cheap super charging. If you want to save money then you would generally go a far easier diff swap and wouldn't worry about a 6speed until far later down the track AKA once the engine is run in, tuned etc. Either way i'm no mechanic and i'm just speaking from what i've heard and read from other owners. I'm sure he / the previous owner had their reasons.

I was more referring to the random guy that came up whilst me and my mate were taking photos and started going on about his dad's csl and all this other BS. Why bother? I've ran into most, if not all of the CSL owners in QLD from other forums (hard to know for sure as so many people keep quite about them). Most are not modified because lets face it, what do you need to do to a CSL? He was going on about heaps of crap and his story kept changing when i asked him questions. I made it pretty obvious that i knew a fair bit about the topic and give him plenty of easy ways out but he just continued lying through his teeth. I don't have time for people like that.

    Oh well,
    people do that.

I rocked up in the AMG, and had my mate drive the SRT. Neither seemed overly welcome, so I pretty much had an ogle of all the nice hatches and left!
Neat to see a Focus RS and the Megane together.

    The Foci were pretty cool.
The RS parked so far off the kerb, it was like he didn't want to damage his car/didn't know how to reverse park.

I wasn't sure who many of the non VW people were and from what i saw a lot of them just kept to themselves so maybe next time we will have a bit more collusion from everyone to get this really social and more euro's.

I had the Peugeot 205 an I had a ball. I wanna buy a VeeDub just to join the forum! Thanks for such a good night. Tony and his wife (appologies as her name escapes me), Kara and Matt made me feel so welcome.
