    Can i ask what the differences are on a 76 bonnet?

    I know Swallowtails have differnt bonnets but didnt know 76's were different as well!

    i thought 75's are Swallowtails.

    Mines a 76 but not a Swallowtail.

    nice golf mate, verrrry nice!

    i dont think the year is all that important - some 76's are swallowtails, and some arent... ie mollins 2 door isnt, but its also 76.

    Surprised that Phil hasn't answered this - AFAIK, early MkI bonnets didn't
    have the leading lip that the later ones had - the front edge was pressed into the bonnet like on the sides. The early ones didn't have that...

    ok thanks but i still dont see the difference between my bonnet and the one you posted they look the same

    Over the years most cars have had repairs and have had panels replaced. The "swallowtail" panel or bonnet was not available as a replacement for very long. These also had plastic chrome window trims.
