    Brindog's Transporter 400TDI LWB

    Hi Guys
Thought I may as well put up some pics of my Recently acquired Transporter.
Its a 400TDI so the Twin Turbo Diesel in a long wheel base with DSG

Im going to build it up into a good weekend van for carting bikes around in, then come monday be ready for work.

    First up was tint.
    20% front and 5% rear.

Then dropped in a Alpine Multi-media system in the dash. (INE-W947E AU)
Nice unit, Easy to use and a heap of functions. Bluetooth, Sat-Nav, Camera, DVD, Radio, Ipod, USB, SD Cards, etc
Also Got a reverse Camera Installed. (HCE-C210RD) The one that does the 4 different views; Normal, Panorama, Corner, and Bottom.
Makes it so easy and a heap safer when reversing out of them city lane ways and annoying driveways with the huge blind spots a panel van has.

Replaced those horrible yellow standard issue Plates for some Classic Euro style ones

Royal Nasho Park Roads and the van at work.

Laid Dynamat Extreme in the rear of the van, doing 100% coverage including cab.

Bumpers, door handles, and mirrors got a lick of paint. Get rid of that commercial look

Thats all for now, hopefully some updates within the next couple of weeks when I get a few more things done to the big girl.

    Cheers!

You wouldn't guess... Samsung Galaxy s5, only one shot is taken with my Canon 5d3 which is the one with the bonnet bra.
But they are all edited with Adobe Lightroom though.
The Galaxy has a surprising amount of dynamic range for a phone camera.

So my Spigot rings and wheel bolts arrived from the UK today so I could fit my new alloys.
The Spigot rings drop the centre bore of the BMW rims from 72.5mm to Transporter's 65mm.
    Happy days!!

Well its been a couple of years since my last update. Absolutely loving the van still. Its been fantastic with work loading cameras and gear etc into the back, then come the weekend Throw a mattress with a cheap camp oven and off I go.
Been on a handful sneaky weekend snow trips, Did a quick Great Ocean Road and Grampians trip between jobs in Melbourne and Sydney, and quite a few MTB trips and alot of Weekend trips to go bushwalking.

All I've really done since is; full ply lined 3mm with carpet, installed led lights in the roof and rear door, and speakers in the rear. I also cut out the center of the cargo barrier for access to the rear.

The van is going into its next stage now and I'll will be turning it into a panel camper on a budget.
Plan is to be pretty simple. It'll have duel batts, portable Engle fridge, permanent bed with cupboards running down one side and a sink. I'll need to find a cabinet maker for the fit out because I don't want it to be to shoddy. haha!

52 Years Difference. Gotta Love Panels

I'll be sure to update this thread as I get along with the fit-out.
