Do the math: 100mm CB with 14mm bolt holes, means 86mm between the edges of the wholes, minus 72mm = 14, which means you'd have 7mm each between the CB and the edges of the bolt holes.

Having said that, best bet would be to a) confirm the centrebore dimension, and b) ring a few places to check that it can be done, ie Eastern Wheel works in Lilydale.

If it doesn't work(or no where will do it) I think you're still in with a shot for adapters, as Dyl has mentioned. Somewhat aggresive fitment on the rear, but I think the front should be bang on.
nar will be fine all round. 8.5et15 up front, 9et19 out back. would be boss fitment

just checked it on willtheyfit.com and basically this ends up in an extra ~30mm of poke compared to what i have now all round, but the fronts are already almost flush and the rears are tucked approx. 20mm.
so this would result in the fronts poking like a bitch and the rears only just being flush... would ideally prefer the opposite..

If a3 fenders sit the same as mk4 golf then 8.5 et15 will be sweet, just maybe a teeny bit of lip poke(depending on how low you are of course). Which i think looks the goods in the front. I run 8.5 et18 up front and lip sits just in line with fenders. Interested what the rear would look like though! mexipoke?

yeah i put my current wheels (17x7.5 et32) on a mate's mk4 and they sat semi-similar (although the rear guards of the mk4s are maasssiiivveee)

i really just need to go and try the wheels in person to see how they sit then take it from there... the guys out in woop woop though (approx. an hour away) and i currently have exams so this wont happen til late next week... regardless, i'm trying to figure out ways of fitting them...
i know i've spent waayyy too long investigating methods when i start considering this VWVortex.com - multi-lug
the other main concern is price - as much as i would love to throw all the money i can at these wheels, i can't.
at the moment this is my reasoning. wheels cost ~$500. sell my wheels ~$300. total spend = $200. redrill wheels (quoted $35/wheel) = $140.
and boom, they fit. and i've spent $350. now the concern is the offset. fronts may (or may not) be fine. rears will need spacers ~$200+.
so instead of redrill + spacers ~$350. just go adapters ~$350. but then again the offset still might be off!
not to mention the lips if the wheels need work and they don't even have centre caps

i really should be studying right now.

edit: spoken to the seller and am meeting him on friday of next week to see how the wheels go fitment-wise.
thanks to everyone for their input.

spoken to a few places and redrill is possible - but the wheels themselves could be an issue as the centre is slightly raised - they are flat backed though.

yeah they are the same. S3 (and i think the TT) are different.
    nar 9et18 will be sweet.

test fitting them at stock height will be completely different when they are lowered. all the mk4 guys at a 40mm drop think 8et35 is 'flush'
where as a 60-70mm drop will swallow at 8.5et30 no worries. your only talking 15mm more out front then that, and being 17s its easier to do. itll poke, but not much if you go low enough.

this is a 17x9et20 rear with a 205/45 for reference. car was still high then so it looks pretty ugly.
its also with a off centre beam so that side seem to poke more then the passenger by about 5-6mm
