    '75 Swallowtail

Here are some pics of the old girl, since i picked it up i have fitted the Ronals, and put another 500 miles on. (original mileage btw)

The car is a 1975 Golf LS Automatic, running on twin Dellorto 40's

I was due to move over to Oz in Jan '06 and the plan was to import it eventually, though that fell through i ended up selling the car and now i have purchased it back, so it's back with it's rightful owner now.

Great loking Golf. Congratulations. It must be very hard to find a good Mk1 over there these days.
I bet the twins sound great too. Straight bumpers and GTI steering wheel, a rare thing over there I am led to believe.
Good on you and a huge welcome to the forum, its good to have you here,

GolfMan - It goes great with the auto box though would be better when i get the carbs jetted correctly. Everyone looks round to see what that noise is coming down the road!

KI11Z - The paint is the original colour, though the n/s wing has been resprayed at some point and is dire! really badly aged.

99gti - I'm pretty much going to keep it as is, though with a bit of resto work, there are plenty of rusty bit to deal with. We're coming into winter weather over here so shall have to stop using her soonish.

I'll get a spray at some point though with the original colour.

gtimk5 - Cheers bro, with this particular car i discovered it in a barn when i had my last mk1 (a 1300cc 4speed, loads of fun!!) and to be fair i only wanted the chrome bumpers, though ended up buying the whole car. The steering wheel isn't the cars original, i bought it at a show, think it was off a Scirocco Storm.

Cheers for the welcome, i shall be hanging out here for a while i think
