Hey all new here just thought id post a couple of pics of my new Tig and the car it replaced...
This WAS my 2010 Pepper Grey 125TSI DSG Tig written off just before Christmas by someone running a red light. Other than our mk4 silver golf (wife had it when we got together) it was my first VW and I loved it!
I just picked up my new Tig, its a 2014 132TSI Pacific. Nothing special added just stock std. Im looking at APR Stg1 asap but have the general concerns regarding breaking stuff and will i actually notice a difference for $1500?! Also looking at changing these GOD AWFUL standard wheels....looking maybe 19x8s..?

I'll second sharkie about the tune, made a huge difference and never fails to put a smile on my face (or a frown on some m3's)
The Tig held up pretty well after the accident you had, that was one of the major reasons i chose it.
Thanks guys. Went down to my local APR retailer here in mordy and turns out there is a tune available (was told from volkspower 2-3 months away) but it's ecu out. Just wondering has anyone here had issues with getting this done before?

I've had my car bench tuned a few times. It can be a little tricky but the APR guys should have seen your ECU before so less problems going down this route. If you want to save a few $ and can hang out that long, APR often runs a few sales through the year (next one likely around Easter). You'll probably save $200ish off the price of the tune. Just depends on how much of a hurry you're in .
Also check out if your local APR dealer has the tools to do the bench flashing. If not then they'll have to send your ECU off to Brisbane for flashing in the APR workshop. It's not a biggie just means your car will be off the road for a couple of days.
There is always a risk of something going wrong that's why it's best to go with somebody that you trust to do the right thing by you. After all your (new) pride and joy is in their hands.
Definitely worth doing and is very noticeable. My 125TSI now does 0-100 in under 6 sec! Though that's with a 3" DP but stage 1 is still very good gains. Certainly had no problems with breaking things - just don't go silly with launch control

The guys here are the Victorian main office and from all reports are awesome - they have a 1000hp (850 at the wheels) twin turbo lambo sitting in there shop as a 'project' and were currently fitting a supercharger to bench flashing an A5 while I was there - I did get a good feeling.
I must ask a question - I know what launch control is BUT does my tig have it? Did my 125tsi have it? Both DSG

Yes both your DSG Tigs will launch if you tell it that you want to.
You can probably find this procedure in other places but here's the steps:
- Have the car stationary in "D" and put your left foot on the brake
- Turn off traction control - button just in front of your gear lever with the sliding tyres. You have to press the button for a second and a message comes up in your MFD alerting you.
- Next while keeping your left foot on the brake, put your right foot flat on the accellerator. Revs should hold at around 3,000RPM. It will bounce off the rev limiter if you hold it.
- When you're ready take your foot off the brake and hold on... well it's not knock yourself back in the seats acceleration but it does get off the line a lot quicker than if you just push the pedal to the floor.
Suggest only trying on a closed road/runway/track where you can do this sort of thing responsibly

So I now have APR stage 1 and well yes I'm impressed...sort of
It most certainly gives the turbo more power I actually wasn't expecting it to kick in so hard but it seems to have done nothing from start until the turbo kicks in (around 2500) is this normal? Also the face that it hasn't been below 40 degrees here since I have had it done and I've only driven with the a/c on so that's got to be sucking power

Yes you'll notice a big drop in power with high temps. Wait until it cools off a bit before giving it a real test.
