Where to get a hose part?

Hi guys I need a cooling system hose for my 1996 Golf Tdi part number 037 122058 which goes from the water pump to the oil cooler (superseded from 037 121 058B), otherwise my car won't go! The local dealer wants $93 for it, paid in advance, my local independent parts guys want $70 plus $20 postage from Adelaide to Sunny Coast. I can't help but think this would be cheaper from the UK (I would prefer to use local but at that price...). Does anyone have a favourite UK supplier that is efficient and fast at delivery?

    Cheers Sparkie

Did you try Autobarn The one at Morayfield is usually pretty good. Ring and ask for Dennis

Have you tried rummaging through the hose bin at your local supercheap/autobarn/repco, you might be able to find something that would be suitable, whilst you wait for a part form OS.

otherwise you may be able to repair the old hose using some repair tape like "rescue tape" (which does work!)

    037122058 | eBay

    Try your luck on Ebay.

Postage could be between 1 week and never, though.

I always ebay the numbers for that unusual stuff, you never know what it'll turn up.

Does this pipe have any side pipes off it or is it just shaped to fit?

    Gavin

Ignore me, just buy one off ebay and see if they will ship it faster.

if it is the 3 way hose (water pump, cylinder head, oil cooler) that is under the injector pump that goes all gooey and soft when your pump leaks diesel all over it - then you are in the wrong state.

I just bought 1 about 2 weeks ago from VW Denlo in Sydney.
$63 - there were 3 in Singapore till I ordered one, and after that they have to be sourced from Germany.

    Edit : my bad - my hose was 028 121 053 Q

Thanks fellas, why did I not think of ebay? That's next. I found the part on Volkspares in the UK for 9.50 pounds! At that price I am tempted to get the entire hose kit there as I reckon this is just the first to go. I'll try Autobarn too
