    Wheels for MKV Gt TDI

Can anyone tell me what specs I should be looking at with 19' wheels for my gt tdi? Offset, width, centre bore etc.

    Thanks, Eddie.

19x8 +45 and run a 225 35 19. You will not get any rubbing issues with this setup. I am running a 19x8.5 +42 with 215 35 19 with no issues and my car is salamied.

When are we going to get the new photos showing your car "salamied"?

Thanks guys, i've been leaning towards 18's at the minute though just for the extra ride comfort... still undecided.

Have to say I was worried about this too when I was looking at 19's and chose 18's for this reason but having taken a ride in ForceFed's Golf with his 19's I didn't notice any more harsh a ride.

It's fine if you're running a 235 but go down to a 215 and the ride becomes somewhat harsher.

    Hey Buddy,

I was in two minds about 18s and 19s both in 8.5. I went the 19s and the problem i had was a legal one. They fitted perfectly with the standard +45 offset with no rubbing. I was running 215s which they said was a little small for the 8.5's. The problem was that the actual wheel arched out away from the tyre, which put it outside the fenders, which mean't it couldn't get a road worthy. The point of the fender is to prevent a direct collision with the wheel, which in theory stops the car from flipping in certain typed of accidents. That's why you can't get a road worthy if they are outside of that. Make sure you get the assurance of the seller that they will fit with no problems. Then you are completely safe, and can return them.

That said, i have had the past 4 or 5 months resolving problems with my wheels. I only purchased based on their assurance, which meant i could return them, but.... they sat out so i had to chase him for a refund. Not fun. Should be getting my 19s next week (IN THEORY). Exciting stuff!

Good luck! let us know how you go!

I should specify that i have a MK5 Golf. I would probably recommend that you get 8" width as well, you would get a better tyre fit. Not sure about offset but i'm pretty sure spacers are illegal.
