My gues is that your oil consumption will be not noticable - up to 0.75L in 7,500km in just right time for the first oil change.
Your fuel consumption is showing that you must enjoy driving it as i do: i can't resist to accelerate fast at every oportunity within the safe speed limits.

haha - speeding,
after driving mk1's forever, going into my mk3 td, i've really had to train myself not to speed on the f3 between hornsby and gosford every day. its so easy with those ratio's to cruise at 130-140...

My car is petrol. In response to your query, I rechecked my technical information as is stated in my car manual (located in the glovebox).
My car seems to be the only model contained within that has a 60 litre capacity fuel tank. The rest have 55 litres. Only the 75kW Petrol Engine has a 60 litre tank according to that technical data sub booklet (part of a number of books contained within the overall black folder).
I re-checked some of my petrol receipts and I have filled more than 55 litres on a number of occasions.
I will ask the Bug_Racer as he is due to do some maintenance checks on my Golf in the near future, but my manual states 60 litres. If my car is in fact 55 litres, then I will correct my consumption calculations accordingly.
For what its worth one of my non VW car's hand book says it has a 68 litre usable tank but on occasions I have been known to put 75 litres in it!
The whole subject of fuel tanks and gauges and their accuracy can be an emotional one. The only way to put it all to rest is drive until the car konks out and refuel to capacity (that's how I found out about the 75 litres above). This is not too good or recommended becuase of the crap picked from the bottom of the tank though.
Sometimes when the low fuel warning on our Jetta comes on I can fill up and only get 47 lt in and other times 53 lt (taking note to fill up asap when the light 1st came on). In the handbook the guide is that the light comes on at about 48 lt. So give or take it's within limits.
Cheers to you all.

thats ok if the book says 60 then its 60
If you are interested in fuel economy (or consumption) there is only one way to calculate it with any accuracy (don't believe your VW MFD, they can be more than 15% out) :
Fill tank to brim, record current odo reading (or set trip meter to zero).
Drive at least 200 km (any less reduces accuracy).
Fill tank to brim. Record how far you have driven it and how many litres you put in.
Divide litres by kms X 100 = fuel consumption in litres per 100km
Some factors that can affect how much (or little) fuel you use are:
City driving uses more, hwy driving uses less (usually).
Faster driving uses more, slower uses less.
Hard acceleration uses more, gentle uses less.
Cold engine uses more, warm engine uses less.
Aircon "on" uses more.
Roof racks with stuff on uses more (wind drag).
Towing uses more (wind drag and weight).
Anticipating lights and stoppages uses less.
Properly inflated tyres use less (as do narrower tyres).
Diesels use less than petrol engines (usually).
I strongly advise against "drafting" (following closely behind another vehicle - too dangerous) or "coasting" (particularly with your engine switched off - that's just plain suicidal).
Just done my fuel consumption figures manually.
1st tank. 949km average 5.5/100
2nd 948km average 5.3/100
3rd 1216km average 4.7/100
3rd tank consisted of added 6.5litres $10.00 of fuel from Young servo to get me back to Sydney.
Most of travelling done on Fwy. use of BP fuel and mostly no aircon.
Trip to young is down hill returning to Sydney from the Southern highlands.
My MFD on setting 2 is showing Average of 4.9 which has not been reset
from day 1 of ownership.
