    Variable Vane turbo control

Just wondering if there is a manual method to control variable vanes on a turbo if the engine has a pump dusche IP or if with a mechanical pump i have to stick to old style turbo? I am assuming the V turbo is driven by the computer?

    any thoughts appreciated

    electronic control:
    Micro controlled VNT project

    mechanical control:
    VNT Vanagon

I think VNT's are a good solution, but its just a tad more work to get one in and running well. you will, however, reap the benefits. After having fooled around with the large T3 on my 1.9, I am personally tired of llllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaG. I say go for it, - and, if you find a good source of OEM second hand VNT's, let me know

Ok sorry I took so long to respond. Looked at both intently and I might just go old style to get it going. looks like it might take a little mucking around to make the mechanical harnesss. are the manifolds the same would a vnt fit in the same slot later on?

some of the vnt's have the turbine housing cast as part of the manifold (actually, most). There are a couple that aren't, but are 1) sought after - and 2) rarer to begin with. So, no, the manifolds arent really the same.

    Good luck
