US regulators widen probe into VW diesel vehicles
US safety regulators widened their probe of more than 97,000 Volkswagen AG diesel vehicles after receiving reports that appeared to link engine problems with a failure of the vehicles' fuel pumps.
Regulators and VW received 160 complaints and field reports indicating a failure of the high pressure fuel pump in these vehicles may have caused a loss of power or engine stalls in some instances.
How bad is deezl in US?![]()
We need to get this moved to the Diesels forum (it's been discussed there a bit as a sidetrack to another topic)
The problem looks more like a design fault in the low pressure section of the Bosch rail fuel pump. This is great as it may result in a worldwide recall to replace the pumps before they fail and trash the entire fuel system (injector, lines, tank, etc as well as the pump).
