    Yes thanks apart from the bill lol drained tank full flush and new fuel filter engine seems much smoother now which is weird.

    Would have decarboned it a bit?

    Way, way back (pre-tdi days) we used to throw a liter (about 2% of the mix) of petrol in the workshop Toyota Hilux diesel (circa 1979?) because the boss reckoned a little bit of petrol or metho was beneficial for starting. Used to throw plenty of other rubbish in the tank too - it was a very agricultural engine.

    I know almost nothing about diesels (still) & this isn't something I'd recomend as it appeared to make no difference.

    Helps.... the piston pumps do relatively small movment to generate the high pressure, so it would take a lot of running on petrol to damage the injectors from wear.
