I wouldnt even think about one.
I guess you get what you pay for in this world and for $50 I think you would get a lot less than $50 in value there!!!

When PD engines first came out, these were substantially more money to buy. The likes of Awesome GTI all sold them for 5-600 quid. I remember a mate getting one for his Bora in about 2002.

As the market saturates the value decreases. These methods of tuning now appeal to 'less affluent owners' who can now buy the cars they fit for less than $5000.

My mates Bora went well and didn't blow smoke.

That said, you don't have much come back if it goes wrong.

I reckon all the software providers in Australia can do you something for you car. It wont be $50 plus shipping though.

man, stay right away from that chip- that is one of the simple ones.

the more 'reputable' ones like van aaken, diesel-power.ca, etc etc, apparently have microprocessors that work with the ecu so that the chip remains effective yet safe.

that chip, however, is a resistor in plastic casing, total worth= $3.30 or so, iirc.

it basically goes in post ecu and causes the car to think it's running cold, so it provides more fuel- ive read problems associated with overfuelling, and apparently its deadly to use on a hot day.

if you go to tdiclub and search for something called 'evry mod' (evry, NOT every), you'll see what i mean. on pre pumpe-duse cars, the evry mod is tried and perfected, but i havent really read of many people doing it for their pd cars- most people seem to be going with a more reputable company like diesel-power.ca, or a proper computer remap.

Bought this exact same chip a year ago when I bought my Polo TDI.
It did nothing at all in terms of what they say.
No evidence of power gain however I was using a lot more diesel.

I took it off when my car went to service and will never be placing it back.

I can sell you mine if you are so keen on it.
