    hi guys, piston info

just bought a set of 76.5 mm pistons from the states from a parts wharehouse, and they have arrived and arent the right size wrist pin diameter or height from the crown to wrist pin, (ie) 4 mm approx too high, and pin dia is about 22 not 24 , any idea what these would be off , as the piston looks like the ones at a glance, the valve cutouts etc are correct. my motor is 1500, do these sound like 1600 units to you guys ???
any ideas would be good. cheers., as the company want me to pay the frieght and insurance back so they can give me a refund , which is about the same cost of the set to start with , ----GO FIGURE --- not to mention the 2 oil rings on 2 of the pistons were also busted on arrival.
if anyone wants to know which company it is , let me know .!

    hey mate,

the pistons are probably 1.6 ones - they have a 1mm larger wrinst pin as i recall and different height (1.6 uses a longer stroke, same bore).

btw - the depressions in the piston crown are actaully part of the combustion chamber.

    yes . . . and NO.

well, the gudgeon pin is smaller on the new ones i bought , by about a mm or 2 , havent even bothered measuring the damm things! !
and the distance from the crown to the gudgeon pin is around 4mm greater, meaning that the piston protrudes 4mm or so more out the top of the block . ! !
im assuming someone made a mistake in the parts bin , and has labeled them wrong !
doesnt help me with this 1500 motor either way. !
