New battery
Most mornings, first start, my Tiguan doesn't' imediatley respond to turning the key. Sometimes a slight delay. Other times no response then it might begin to turn over as I release the brake pedal, sometimes even as I have released the key.
It seems to me that it starts using the start stop system and not the normal key start. After first start all is normal.
Anyone else experiencing this and what is the fix?

Possibly but it turns over normally and quickly

I'm a 'voltage' believer also.
Funny stuff happens.
If you haven't had the battery replaced it's about the time it will go. Wait for winter and if it's on it's way generally the colder weather will finish it off.

Thanks guys. I appreciate your thoughts. While the symtons are not what I'm used to re battery failure yet I reckon you could well be right. I'll have a real good look at it. Thanks again!
Remember BMW replace them annually (my suspicion is that it fixes the J.D. Power survey problem they were having).....it its the voltage sensitive tech age now.

Hi All,
I have experienced similar problems during the past fortnight and I believe my problem to be the pre heating by the glow plugs. If I turn the ignition on without starting ie push the brake pedal for 10 seconds, the TDI starts first time. The Passat has been living out in the cold overnight recently.
If your foot is on the brake pedal it takes valuable voltage to power the brake lights.
