Also some VW TDIs apparently have a speed limit built into the ECU.
According to some of the enthusiastic POMS on the Brickyard forum, this ECU limit cuts in at about 118-120Mph on the 128Kw Transporter TDIs (they all assure me that they either go to Germany for the unrestricted autobahns or use their 'private roads' to check these sorts of limits out
