Not sure where you are in Canberra, but go and chat to the guys at Canberra VW Centre. There is one in Tuggeranong, and one in Belconnen. They can give you some options.
I got my 2TDI reflashed by Pete in Belconnen - sooooooo worth it!!!!!!

Just bought a new Polo DSG 66kw diesel and noted the Racechip.de web site listing an inline upgrade to take the engine to 77kw
Anyone bought from them ?
Anyone recommend or otherwise the upgrade ?
All advice welcome,

Thanks JP emailed Pete earlier today. I am in Belconnen.
Now is that a Scotty flag your flying ?
What was involved with the reflash...
A plug in box is cheaper, but rarely anywhere near as good as a proper reflash, a plug in box tends to distort sensor signals to trick the car into more performance whereas a flash alters the entire fuel map, boost pressure Etc and is a far better and safer result.

hey mate there are a number of software flashers going around for the polo 9N, not sure about the 6R JUST YET. companies such as
viezu
dna tuning
evolve technik
revo technik
giac
superchips / bluefin
malone tuning
oettinger
etc etc
prices vary significantly e.g. as low as $800 for the alientech powergate style unit tuners (superchips, dna, viezu) all the way up to $2k for oettinger (last time i checked, although they might have gone up further still).
if you go for a tune where you get a handset that stores your maps, basically you can buy the handset, plug the cable into your car, download the stock map, email it to your tuner, then download the requested map from your reply email to your handset, then upload it to your car.
if you go to a dealership that DOESNT dyno tune your car but charges for it, then really all that's happening is they're doing the above process, but via a nifty little redistributor login web page from which they download the new map - same thing really, but you pay for the pleasure of talking with the dealer whilst he uploads your tune lol
i dont know if there's much out there for the 6R YET, but given the high pressure fuel pump issues that i've seen the tdiclub boys complaining about in the states and canada regarding the new VAG common rail diesels, i'd not want to risk a ''power box'' style module on my new CR polo.
i know that's not very good to read, given that race chip do post some pretty damn aggressive gains from their module for the new 6R, but bide your time and hold out hope- software remappers will be out and about with tunes for the 6R before long.
cheers,
scotty

Cheers Scotty
I jumped ship last week and switched to a petrol. Looking at a remap for that when it arrives late next week
Yes Polo TSi DSG - bring it on!
Plug in boxes aren't a good idea in the modern VAG TDI's... The exhaust temps are high enough without adding in more fuel. (diesel -more fuel = hotter exhaust, petrol - less fuel hotter exhaust!) And quite a few of the turbos are running as close to their max temps as you'd want to go stock!
Also good to note, if you have a DPF steer clear of those plug in boxes...
