Yep, the Hawk HPS pads I put on mine definitely don't have the initial bite of the OEM pads. Like you said just takes a bit of getting used to.
Odd you had the GTI rear discs, mine definitely aren't. What was the option code on your receipt?

Wow that looks awesome, well done!
The bigger rotor will resist fade as much as anything anything - bigger heat sink!

I know, I'm saying that RS's don't have much clearance inside the wheel so me buying and trying to get on R brakes is not even worth bothering
Ohm my bad sorry from the quote I thought you were talking about his previous setup, I think they di fit under them because there was a set of purple bbs (not RS tho) in purple wil r32 brakesand plants of r32s with bbs so they should?

From what i understand, the only difference (ignoring the carriers) between the stock GTI and TDI front brakes is an increased rotor size (288mm Vs. 312mm). Assuming you have no issues with your brakes at the moment, you shouldn't have any issue with horizontal clearance with GTI fronts. Vertical clearance from an increased rotor size is another matter though...
Having said that, I dont think there would be a massive difference in braking ability by simply changing rotor size alone. I guess if your brakes are rooted there's no harm in upgrading though.

If you asked around at BriSkoda, I think you'll find R brakes fit with stock vRS 18" rims.
They even fit under 17" Zeniths without spacers

Keep in mind that the 345mm R brakes are a 7kg premium over the 312mm GTI units (per assembly) 7kg extra unsprung weight is a lot!
