Should be direct bolt-on. The only thing with these brakes you must have a minimum of 18" rim.

Brakes are on!!!
Not only did I put the Golf R brakes on but while I was at it I changed my rear discs too and put on some ceramic pads. Bit of confusion with the rears because I was under the impression I had some strange euro spec 255mm discs but from the code on my receipt it seems the rear are standard 286mm x 12mm GTI discs so getting a set of performance ceramics wasn't a big deal.
Anyway - Golf R fronts bolted up with no issues.
Must say they look super impressive - they are HUGE! barely fit inside my 18" wheels. I suppose the jump from 312mm to 345mm is significant so I shouldn't be surprised. Here's some before and after photos.
Haven't really done any proper high speed braking tests to ascertain the difference but I have done a few 80kmh-0kmh stops and if I'm honest there's not really much difference - I never thought the standard 312mm fronts were lacking in stopping power to begin with so nothing really to be disappointed about. The braking is still fantastic. Perhaps at higher speeds it might pull the car up a bit better and I'm sure that with the ceramic pads and slotted rotors there will be an improvement with brake fade and heat dissipation.
One thing I have noticed and this had probably more to do with the change to ceramic pads is that initial brake feel is a bit less than the stock pads, whereas previously the brakes would react instantly and bite to the slightest touch of the pedal I now have to press a bit harder before they bite and its more a linear gradual increase in braking power whereas the previous pads bit hard straight away and you had to be gentle with them to prevent your head flying forward. It will just take a bit of getting used to I guess.
One thing that I'm happy to report and this is the biggest reason I wanted to change is that there is no more annoying brake squeal and so far there doesn't seem to be any brake dust.

Great pics mate. They do look massive in comparison and your ride height looks good too!
What are you going to do with your old front brakes?
Looks great mate. Nice touch painting the callipers red.
