Polo TDi economy up and down.
Hi. I've got an '11 Polo tdi auto 16,500km and commute about 100km each way each day. Average economy about 4.5l/100km with speed between 102 and about 106 depending on traffic. All highway and 6 turns door to door. Fuel up at the same truck stop about every 4 days, BP. The last couple of runs had the fuel at about 5l/100km which is about a 10% increase. So, this morning for the last 10km I drove a bit more spirited and ran at just under 3000rpm, which was about 140 to 160km/hr thinking that maybe the dpf needs a flush. This arvo's run was back to about 105km/hr and economy was back down to 4.4l/100km. So my question is....Is my driving at the same speed day in day out much like pottering about the city and the dpf has to be treated the same as someone that just potters about? Seems like it. Let me know what you think.
