That sorks big time...
Thank your lucky stars it was not 18 or 19in shoes you were rolling on = rim damage as well.
So because i'm so behind, the next few photos are from when i took the girl skiing up to Mt Buller here in Victoria. Was a great drive up, but because it was ski season, police were everywhere.
Unfortunately, while crossing a rather long bridge i got a puncture, and with two people not far behind me, it meant that i couldn't stop safely, and had to pull over AFTER the bridge.
As you can imagine, the flat tyre didn't finish well...
This was the hole... no idea what it was from but it is quite large!
Then a few of the tyre after it had been destroyed...

I wasn't supposed to be wasting time, but i received something in the mail last week that has made me incredibly happy...
I bought an OBD2 Car Diagnostic Scanner from eBay a week ago for about $10 free shipping. It is a Bluetooth version. You can buy other corded ones. Link below. You plug this into the VAG com connector on the drivers side, on the right of the wheel, under the wallet/storage compartment.
Auto Mini V1 5 Bluetooth ELM327 Obdii OBD II OBD2 CAR Diagnostic Scanner Tool | eBay
Once plugged in, it enables you to connect to a device (Apple phones or tablets, android phones or tablets etc) via Bluetooth, and monitor a lot of the information on the screen, as well as many other cool functions.
I did a lot of reading, and i decided against any apple products to pair with this Bluetooth device mainly because I use my iphone 5 with Bluetooth for my integrated phone system, but also because from what i read there are no really amazing apps which give you the same variety as the android based tablets. That said, i did try the apple apps (Paid $11 to try "dynolicious classic"), but couldn't get it to connect to the bluetooth.
Therefore, i would high recommend running the Bluetooth off an android based tablet and buying the $6 app called "Torque Pro".
"Torque Pro" - https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...l.torque&hl=en
I went with an old tablet that i had laying around from Dell that cost me about $100 a year or so ago. I wanted to try it out, but it never had the function-ability of the apple Ipad. It runs android, and although it is a little slow, it does the job for this one app i want it to run (Besides having the worst battery life imaginable).
This app is fantastic! It enables you to monitor, on screen, the Revs, speed, acceleration, throttle and most importantly the boost, and that's before i have really gotten to know the app. You can time yourself from 0-100 automatically and gauge the maximum HP of the car. You can monitor the emissions and graph things i have said above. You can check the fault codes and what they mean, and it even tracks your trip with the GPS (If your device has it) and can tell you the speed for every part of the trip using Google Maps. It is really a great app and gives you some quality data. If you are still in two minds, read some of the feedback on the app page above.
Things to remember/check:
- If you connect your phone via Bluetooth for phone calls, it may not be able to receive another signal from another Bluetooth device.
- If you don't have an Android device, i wouldn't recommend it.
- I mounted my tablet in the car, but it was a real pain before that, unless you have a passenger.
- For those people worried about aesthetics, the link to the Bluetooth above has a red light that shines down from the adapter onto the floor/pedals. Doesn't worry me though.
Also, any data that you gather can be "shared". So you can text it or email it or drop box it etc. Compare with friends or even on the forum.

My Nokia Lumia 920 will make a phone call via the car's BT and let me watch OBD-II info from the OBD-II BT adaptor.
Also, if you're planning on using an Apple device to read OBD-II info, you need to get a WiFi adaptor not a bluetooth one. Apple doesn't like using BT for anything thats not audio - *you're gonna have a bad time*

^^ Yeah i read a lot about multiple bluetooth devices, it depends on a few factors which i didn't bother with. Wifi is a good idea though.
Great app though yeah?
