Thumbs up Pardon this thread, but anyone with PD going for BD?

    hey guys.

apart from flaming on here, i've also recently been doing a bunch of reading...

apparently, the move from LSD to ULSD results in lower lubricity for the IP and the injectors.... my understanding is that sulfur is a natural lubricant?

anywhoo.... anyone been running any level of BD (Bio-Diesel) in their car?

Conservo in melbourne apparently serves B20 (20% biodiesel) as well as B100 (100% biodiesel), and i was thinking of running a quarter tank (1.125L, unvented) of B20, then topping up with the regular "devil diesel" (if you read into the beliefs of some of the tdiclub boys, haha).

    thoughts, anyone?

    cheers,

    scotty

There is a thread Biodiesel and your TDI as you probably know.

I wouldn't use BD for more than one reason. I tried it in my T5 for a couple of tanks, there was no power increase and the consumption was worst. There is no benefit from using BD. Use good diesel additive like Moreys or Lucas every fill up, if you want a peace of mind.

    cheers tranny

i was convinced about the BD argument.... but everything keeps pointing back to a good fuel additive.

meh Im over all this preventative bollocks. I'll just continue servicing Sooty regularly and thrashing it daily. If something breaks... I'll fix it
