You forget we run compression ignition mate. Put anything into the inlet tract that can combust, and well you're basically flooring the throttle. Remember that a diesel is throttled by fuel, and not air fuel mix like a gasser. It's basically WOT all the time air wise.

If it's something you mix with the fuel, well it's all well and good, but it doesn't clean the inlet tract where our problem lies.

Provent, Provent, Provent, or a similar decent catch system. Or get rid of your oiler at 100k.

Who was the best supplier of Pro-vent in Sydney again? I have used ANOTHER litre of oil between services now.

You don't need a provent.

Just whack some hose going underneath the car and man up and whack 1L of oil as needed.

I would rather have to top up my oil and thereby get fresher oil, than have all my old ail religiously collected and put back in sump.

What do I do where the line would normally return?

Just block it off.

If you look at car magazines for hardcore drag cars... check out how many oldschool cars are just running the hose to ground technique.

...fine for the odd 400m run, but a bit irresponsible for a daily drive given the easily added options out there.

.... and if it drips oil onto the road it is definitely not nice at all (add water = road with very little traction, particularly dangerous for bikes)

lucky you have your disclaimer in your sig....

if you block it off, the crankcase will pressurise and blow out hte oil seals.... gee that'd be nice wouldnt it.

AHH NO actually if you read the question I was answering he said "What do I do where the line would normally return? "

You would block that off as your breathers are now going elsewhere.

As far as bike are concerned I am tired of carrying them by paying more for my third party insurance than I should. If each bike owner paid their share compared to the cost they cause they would be paying $15,000 a year or something compared to $400.
