    My 2 bobs worth

Guys i reckon in all the years i worked with Dub in the UK i found diesels to be THE BEST engines hey!!! Strong and reliable and a gem to work on mechanically and diagnostics give me them to work on any day!!!! The 1Z Golf engine was a ripper and i put one in my mates VW Transporter and used the Immobiliser from it too and turned out to be e great thing.
Just look at the Lemans Audi!!!! and by the way they baned diesels from Le Mans years ago because they had so many less pits!!!!!
Thought i would share my view guys
    Cheers

The engine was in the Mk3 Golf in the UK, Some over here too mate. Same thing is the AAZ engine. Around 94-98. Great engines. The other 1 is naturally aspirated UMWELT engine. Its a 1Y engine but wouldnt pull the skin off a rice puddin.
Cheers, by the way i have loads of info on that let me know if you want to know more.

    Idi

Indirect injection.. the fuel is injected into a precombustion chamber, rather than directly into the combustion chamber above the piston head as found in direct injection cars ...

all new TDI's are Turbocharged Direct Injection...

the old 1.5L,1.6L and some of the 1.9s in the mk3 diesels were IDI..

Hi, we're interested in what info you have regarding putting a golf TDI into a '77 Bay. You mentioned putting one in your mates transporter, what year model was that? Cheers
