Viezu does have the DPF delete right as I understand, for most cars. I assume you think that Viezu doesn't have it right because of my experience with them. There was, oddly, something in my ECU map that was at least different from UK models (if not other TDI models in general?). The way a standard stage 1 tune works, as opposed to truly generic tunes which are very rare these days, is that they take the original file and modify only the few parameters that need to be changed to improve the map. In the same way, the DPF delete codes for the ECU tune would apply to modify only what parameters they deem necessary from stock to stop the regen and errors.

The concluded diagnosis from Custom Code for my car was that in my stock ECU map, a parameter usually outside the normal range for modifying the DPF codes have been changed / is different from what is usually the case, and it was overriding the DPF delete codes. I would assume that for 99% of cars, the DPF delete codes should work, whether Viezu or Custom Code - however I believe Viezu outsources the DPF delete codes to 3rd parties (something like ECUsafe) and as such is at a loss about what to do when the codes don't work, that's where Custom Code experience comes in.

Just thought I'd clear that up, I certainly am not suggesting that Viezu DPF deletes don't work. As an afterthought though, there was a UK / Scottish company that posted on these forums a few months ago I think, that claimed that they actually found and deleted the entire regen map (so possibly even more advanced than Custom Code?), so options are definitely out there.

If Greg gets his partial flow DPF working though things will be very interesting...

ah yes i shouldnt have "presumed" to say that Viezu dont have it right at this point in time.

wouldnt want to deter customers from going to them - i've been very happy with them.

very interesting about outsourcing parts of a remap - didnt know that the industry had "evolved" to that stage (not being cynical, i genuinely didnt have a clue).

Outsourcing is essentially just advertising a service that people are interested in and then getting some other business to perform it for you....

Yeah that was custom spooling. There is also a company called Shark Tuning which seems quite popular, they also claimed to have fixed a take off stutter on the PD170 which people were complaining about. Can't say I've really noticed it, I just put the lag at take off down to the DSG.
