Hahahaha
The way I have always understood the etymology was that Asians initially, put over the top, cosmetic crap on their cars, and it was called rice because it was what, stereo typically, only Asians ate.
Further on from that, it became the word for the stuff added on, not the person or type of car that was involved
Moral of the story is, don't put crap on a euro car. Ze Germans didn't spend hours and millions in development for you to ruin it with something thought up by a douchebag.

Pulled out my old box and had a 2nd hand box swapped over for it.Took it to Wolfsburg Automotive up near Geelong and the guy told me the gears were all smashed to pieces (was expecting this) in mine so there was no way to really reco it on the cheap. but I did luck out on the box I swapped it over for anyway as they only had one of my type of box and it had a new bearing installed so it's not just a complete 2nd hand box
How is the intake going? on hold till gearbox issue sorted?

Yeah was on hold for a little due to gearbox and I've been pretty busy with work
I'm going to need to refit it to make mounts for it and the rest is just maf and two breathers on it (can do them off car) but instead of wasting my time here and there I'll just get the box/clutch sorted and finish of the intake in one go. I'll try grab a pic of what it looks like currently, it's not pretty but best I could do with my skills lol
So clutch arrived and everything is booked in for next Saturday the 18th to put everything back in
Also got a picture of how the intake is coming along. It's 1 piece and all welded and welds ground down
Needs mounts, two breather pipes and maf parts made and welded
There is also one 90 degree silicon joiner that goes from the 2.5" reducer onto the comp cover of the turbo
Interesting to see how it goes. Look the goods
