A dump pipe will give you ten times greater gains than any intake, good idea! Nice Provent install, is that Western Filters universal kit? It will take time for oil to collect, but don't wish for it!!

i think it'd be a fun mod, not that id be doing it myself, mores fun in that people will be like wtf is that?!

i just bought the prevent unit, and 2 metres of silicone oil return hose off ebay. the hose is a bit thick i might try and fid something a bit slimmer as i wouldn't mind getting the engine cover back on.

relocated the prevent to under the air intake near the battery and firewall, nice and hidden, and managed to get the engine cover back on.

anyway i found out my idle problem.

have borrowed jarred ( jazd) ross tech cable, and i have fault 19559 which is faulty intake manifold flap. I'm going to give it a good clean today and check the wiring, otherwise replace it.

makes sense that it might be stuck open, thus giving me high revs at idle. as its meant to shut at idle.

will let you guys know, and update pics of where my prevent is now!

I was under the impression silicone hoses were bad for oil vapour?

Silicone is fine but they need to be Fluorosil lined to be resistant to oil. If its not lined then I'm pretty sure that your silicone hoses will bleed out the oil or will break down inside. This will happen over time as it fills up with oil. You haven't had them installed long enough to see the effects. If you say they sold you ones specific for oil use then it should be ok.

    Hose

The hose is like 20 dollar a metre oil return hose from a fluids place. I'll just check it periodically to see how it's going. I'd say it's oil resistant considering it's used for oil pumPs etc usually. And it's mounted against the firewall now so it's a bit of a pito to get to.

allright, provent is off. the hose was sh*thouse and leaking and creasing. ended up forming a fold and sealing the pipe, then fuel consumption jumped up to about 7-8l/100 . I've pulled it off for now and i bought some new pipe today but its way too thick. waste of $40 bucks. so I'm really at a loss for what to use. i might wait until i get a new intake until i refit the provent.
does anyone know where to get some decent hose that won't seep oil, so i can refit my provent
