its a toss up between h & r race srpings, and eibach sportlines. see forcefeds tdi, he said his handling is better and it looks awesome ! i have decided not to go any lower than that. h & r are 45mm up front and 35 out back.

Go with the eibachs then as they'll be a touch softer/comfortable ride.

    Going off topic?

    Hey guys.
The springs and handling discussion would be better in the Wheels and suspension section or rename the thread (I'd preffer), so more people can join the discussion and potentially benefit from it. Hence

I don't think it is off topic, it is an introduction all the same.

As for the exhaust. I removed my rear pancake muffler on my TDI and found it to be a little more nimble, but the best part about it was adding some chrome tips.

All numbers are pie in the sky until your on a dyno.

I didn't see that anywhere in his thread (just went through it).
And with his combination of springs, wheels and tyres the ride would be awful and handling, when seriously pressing on, would be severely compromised, especially in bumpy corners.

Shouldn't this thread actually be in the Intro forum since it is just that (+ the mods list is not just diesel stuff hence the 'OT')?

maybe handling is better was an exxageration

eibach sportlines will be low enough. to get themr eset is $200 bucks which is getting me closer to coilover territory. which i want to avoid for a car that goes to uni and work and thats it.
