Has anyone tried this liqui Moly DPF cleaner or heard whether its actually effective?

I'm very skeptical whether it will actually work and not sure if I should even waste my money on it.

If you thinking about the DIY, you need a quite expensive applicator for it as well, so for one of, you're better of to put money towards a new DPF or let someone else to do it. In the mean time, using Morey's Diesel Smoke killer every time you fill up should extend the life of the DPF.Originally Posted by poyta

I read the press statement and it seems as though, Liqui Moly have designed this liquid to be done at every major service, rather than at EOL of the DPF to resurrect it.

Apparently liqui Moly have a new product out that you add to your fuel tank that somehow chemically lowers the soot burn off temperature in your DPF by approximately 100 degrees so apparently your passive regenerations will be more effective. Not sure what its called but my mechanic has recommended it and I'll get a can next week and try it and see how it goes.

It quite possibly has some Cerium in it (see this). Good for maintaining a DPF but won't remove ash.
PSA diesels use it in an additive called Eolys which has its own tank and is mixed into the fuel

^ what he said, helps burn the soot component down to zero quicker during a regen, great for inner city, short trip diesels, or anyone currently having dramas doing a proper regen.
Ash only comes out under reverse flush pressure, or about 2500 degrees in a kiln.

What is this product called?
I've tried so many additives to help lessen the regen or atleast help it finish quicker but none works.
I've tried DSK, Liquimoly and now I'm trying out cleen diesel by cleanenergy. Plus finally BPUltimate diesel is now avalaibe in Norwest which is close to home. Seems my regen occurs around every 300-400km or on half tank. And when it happens seems to catch me just when I am about to reach home. So I keep interrupting it until the Dpf light comes on then I'm off to the freeway again.

I would guess you either have a DPF approaching full of ash, or have an error that has put the car onto a set mile pattern for regens over awaiting till it is actually full of soot. Messing with the EGR system, and throwing an EGR CEL will do this sort of thing.
Cerium containing additives have made my DPF regen in half the time, a very obvious difference, you can watch it drop at a dramatic rate compared to normal on Vag Com.
Can you access Vag Com to check for errors / loading??
