Leave one in a glass jar of diesel. Totally gone in about a day. It's not like an aspro!
hey greg, i just have a question about the moth balls...
i got the hovex branded ones, 990gm/kg of napthalene... how long did yours take to dissolve in diesel?
because i waited at the servo for six minutes (dropped one ball into an old cup of diesel), and it started VERY gently fizzing, but only just, then after around 3 mins it just tapered off and nothing happened - i poured the diesel out, and the moth ball looked pretty much the same as it had when it went in.
the only "ultimate" type diesel we've got down here is the caltex vortex stuff, so i mainly use that. had you done your experiment with BP?

Right now I have the Viezu PD170 performance tune, good for about 210hp and 430 nm but is an amazingly different drive. It's as far as Viezu or anyone really likes to push with a DPF in place. Viezu always under quote too, it sure seems powerful!
Once I finish the experimental DPF we'll try and get a delete tune working as is never needs a regen, and can up the power further
Get into it, big fun. I got my modshack intake from, well, modshack : )
Google it, but there are other good options these days, Forge, VWR, any that fit the similar GTI will easily adapt, so long as you don't get the full length to turbo ones, as the layout is totally different.

Well the "settle in" period for the Viezu performance tune has been interesting, it is definately running harder now that at first. My 1800rpm boost "spike" is back in a way, but now there is more power off boost, and a whole lot after it, so it;s not as obvious. At first the tune seemed very smooth and linear, now it;s a bit more savage like the car of old, but with all the extra power, and I'd have to say I am very impressed. Front tyre lifespan has just dropped significantly, they just have no chance now.
It's just so much fun to drive, I now totally get the buzz of "tuning" although I really have to settle down lest I get in trouble with the popo.
With a higher power DPF delete tune, meth and my mods traction will be totally absent, definately need some suspension and a LSD.
Preeny??

Not so pretty with the intake insulation on, but it sure keeps the inlet plumbing cool, and I have three layers right beside the hot fuel pump on the engine side of the MAF.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Out tuning a Golf R tonight, and on my way back a guy in a nice white Golf R decided to roar past from behind me at the lights and show the Carformance Golf how it's done. Fair enough, nice machine.
Next set of lights I pulled up behind him, not too close, but he was looking. Traction off, water injection on, and on green I went for it.
Absolutely loving this tune, it is just going unbelievably well on a stock DPF exhaust, the R pulled away, but not by as much as I would have thought, I'm still astounded. I wonder if he knew he was playing with a weezy manual FWD diesel, that's not finished yet!
The R is an awesome car, and thanks to the dude in the White R, nice to have a serious benchmark.

How the hell do you get any traction at all in your car Greg?!
I have enough trouble at times with a tune on the 103kw engine (admittedly crap old tyres fitted), I could only imagine the difficulty you would have.
MKV Golf 2.0 TDI DSG Sportline. Just nice.
You need to bring the tinkered beast out to lakeside for happy laps to get some higher speed experience Greg
Bet the R owner was wondering what the hell was happening.
