I am now a clutch master since owning the TDI. I pedalled a B Doubel road train last week, piece of piss!
Traction is an issue in FWD for sure, and Viezu sure have not helped : )
I tend to slip the clutch a bit, get her moving, and feed in the throttle. Have spent the last three years perfecting the technique, doesn't always go well!
Track day would be good, but the next one booked out before I even saw it!
This thread seems to be getting quite long, so it's time for the final thread in the TDI tinkering experience....as I'm SO close to done!!
Let the tinkering conclude!

Hi Guys,
I have a 2.0TDI 125kw Skoda Superb, was wondering if the APR Carbonio TDI intake would fit this engine? Also has anyone change the exhaust on these cars, can't seem to find any info on it online.
Yes the intake will fit if you can afford it, and no you have a DPF, and total removal is illegal. DPF performance variant possible, experiments due to start real soon.

don't bother with an intake. the 550 dollars your spending could go towards a good ecu tune. or if your really keen bigger injectors, bigger turbo, etc.

Greg, you seem very intelligent and very inventive, serious. I've loved this thread and would love to be as exploratory with my FSI as you have been with your GT TDI.
The comment I wanted to make is are you aware that mixing napthalene and any sort of fuel you are making a crude version of napalm!
Cheers,
Andrew

Thanks for the kind words. Less need to explore the Golf R engine as much, it puts out truckloads of power from the factory! Project TDI has been a challenge for me, as I've not tinkered with a diesel before, and I have learnt a heap. I feel a bit partial to the oiler as well, for Carformance was born from it, and it's looking pretty serious now thanks to Viezu.
As for intelligent, well, I don't post up *everything*.....
The funny thing is that napth in diesel should be counter productive. Cetane in diesels differs to Octane in Petrol in that it is a rating of resistance to ignite, as opposed to octane being resistance to detonation. Cetane is basically the fuels ignition delay. Higher Cetane diesels have a shorter delay, which is what you want, as diesels ignite "late" compared to a spark plug engine. Napthalene actually lowers the Cetane rating, making the fuel take longer to ignite ( theoretically ) so it should not work - but all I can say is I have been running the Viezu Motorsport tune without any fuel additives, then put the 3 balls in last tankfull and holy crapola it was just mental. Level pegs with a new XR8 actually! Just ludicrous for a tractor, still with a super restrictive DPF. I aim to put it on the dyno as it is now, just to see where it is at before the sports DPF testing.
All this said, I have no long term idea as to what doing this does to the engine, DPF or anything really - just that the EGT's are similar, the car runs like the clappers, and regens are no different. That and the fact my stock DPF core is marked for the bin anyhow.....
Need to start my final thread, Carformance and Viezu has been taking up all my time ( and money ) and then some, but I'm determined to get the tractor finished this year!!

Greg do you recommend removing the EGR valve? I'm thinking I'll go for it. You removed the intake flap as well right? What and where did you replace it with to prevent run-away?
Also what difference does the water/meth spray have? Have you logged the intake manifold temps? I'm assuming the ECU supplies more fuel when it senses that there is a lower intake temp.
