Get the #$%# off my car you fat plastic discs!

Grams add up to kilo's, so every bit counts. PLUS the rims look aftermarket/race without them. Lug bolts are already black which is handy.
So, how much of the weight did you remove from your car so far?

That is very good weight saving.
Did you already trim all the metal brackets and other hardware, which doesn't hold anything important? Many of these are longer than needed.
Many years ago when I bought metal lathe I replaced all the bolts and nuts in the engine bay, which were not supporting (holding) anything important with the one I made from the marine grade aluminium. Not so much for the weight saving but for practicing screw cutting and fun. I made them all the same size head, so I use only one socket for removing covers, filter box, windscreen washer bottle etc. when I service the car (Subaru Forester).

I’m guessing that your next step in weight reduction would be the carbon fiber panels.

    Nope..

I have yet to do the BIG one...... rims and tyres.

I have priced up Enkei RPF1's which weigh only 7kg in 17x8 form and will provide a massive 4kg saving per corner = 16kg total

Which because it is part of the driveline is equivalent to saving about 70kg from the body. On paper they could reduce 0-100 by as much as .5 of a second.

It's sad when the TSI'ers have to hang out in the diesel section.

It just proves that under the shy exteriors they really want to be oilers like the rest of us

Now that I've done the POD, and cut the rear muff, I should go do some more Vag quarters and 0-100 to see if there's any diff at all. Can also do another 3rd gear max hill effort with my EGT finally installed to keep Aydan happy. Just read this entire thread again, man I need to get a life!

Talking about VAG and logging, you will like this logviewer it's much better than excel made graph from vagcom.

I have many faulty and good examples that are from dieselPower.cz on my computer. Can post samples if someone wants.
