It's a boost gauge on the dash, and an oil temp, pressure and exhaust temp on the console. The mess is to run a nice Alpine, only have a few wires left to sort out now. Yeehah!

and yes, that's a grand - dad dashmat. I'm seeing if it helps both sound and heat from the sun. It will be nice to finally give Jamie something to rib me about too.
c'mon now mate - lets have all of the boost at load and rpm figures, and your EGT's please! im very interested.....

The wheel looks sensational Greg. And there's nothing wrong with having a dash-mat either, they make a massive difference to cabin temps during summer when the dash can heat up to about 90 bloody deg C!!

Well dash mat and all, I lined up a keen young jockey in a rather tidy STI WRX today with a huge muffler and wing, and I only wish he knew that he couldn't get a single centimeter on a 2.0 diesel. Bwahahahaha!

He must have bogged the launch, for I feel confident I could smoke a TDI in a WRX, especially an STI ( unless it was a "badge only" modification )

Either way, I had to laugh out loud. We were dead level to a bit into third for me. Man have I got those gear changes down!

    Giddy up oiler!

Man, when I finally get all the senders hooked up, no problem. Shouldn't be too long, as driving around with half a dash is getting on my nerves!

Geez, I've been slack VW wise! Been finding it hard to make time lately! No good at all!

Here's the only latest updates, and sorry gld, still yet to actually hook up the guages, as it isn't straight forward. Here's the dash all back together with the Alpine head, still on stock speakers.

Here's the plan for my DPF, and yep, yet another piece to play with when I find the time, damn it!! I'm hoping to build an active DPF bypass, so that I can run the DPF for the 95% of the time i don't need full power, and can do my bit to keep both the environment and gregoz etc happy. It's a 2.5" motorized flap from the US. Very solidly built!

Yeah, but notice I've optioned the fast/torquey engine in both ........... see you at the lights Both of them are great Q-ships, and I enjoy toying with the unsuspecting (but only up to the speed limit).

No-one expects the van to do anything at all, so when I take off hard, with a bit of wheel spin in 1st and 2nd it seems to stun them, making easy pickings in 3rd, while hardly anyone in Canberra has the faintest idea of what a Skoda is, let alone an RS wagon (and removing the rear badges took away any helpful hints).

SWMBO has given up on waiting for me to grow up, she reckons if I haven't matured by 55 I'm probably not ever going to - she's a wise woman

My brother in law had a skoda VRS back in the UK 190bhp and it was areal nice ride, looked good too.

They use to have a really bad reputation, however now they have excelled in all departments.

    Nice car, good value.
