    Cool

I’m sure our stuff is fine and I know its used by a lot of people in Europe none of which has complained about it not working as promised. Well thats on the VAG stuff anyway some of the other brands do have issues. Peugeot owners in particular are reporting cases of it not working. Now what I don't know is if the regen cycle still takes place - it might, in fact I suspect it does as altering that would be very hard to discover and modify within the file. If i had a diesel for my own car you can be sure I'd know the answer. (looking at a Q7 for the family truckster atm even a Treg). The cars we did have not had any issues but then again at least one is stock I'd have to check with the guys on the other one but I'm almost certain its the same

So it comes down to if Superchips and Custom Code use the same software and therefore the same modification to the file as we do, My money is that both of them do but they may be reluctant to advertise it loudly - if you know what i mean "cough" big fine "cough". I like both of these guys to be honest so I'd be very surprised if either group couldn't deliver.
In the tuning world there are two dedicated commercial software packages that deal with this 'feature' plus theres also the ability to do it all yourself if you have the appropriate editing package. In the VAG stuff I haven’t heard of it not working when the file is modified by either of the two

If someone in Sydney wants to be a test mule I'll mod their file to delete a DPF for free. The mod process of the file takes about 4 seconds. Greg you thought about moving to the ghetto's of NSW :banana ?

TBH I believe that C-C wrote their own files for the DPF delete. They have all the stuff they need to do it and the flexibility it offers them, was the driving force in the creation of Custom-Code in the first place.

I am not aware of all that goes on behind the scenes in the UK. I signed up a couple of weeks before boarding the plane to Australia. So the identity of the person that cracked the code isn't known to me.

This is one for Jimmy but what I have heard is they can turn the warning light off, which isn't the same as removing the regeneration process.

C-C spent a long time writing this software so I wouldn't expect it to come out elsewhere overnight. Superchips also work on practically every manufacturer on the planet, so spending time on what is really a pretty small market segment, might not be a big priority?

I am happy to be corrected on this Jimmy.

I would have thought they would use a tool like this ......

There are a couple of other companies that offer this service too

OK so that would mean you wont see the light but the engine will still continuously think that it needs DPF regeneration and run the engine hot. Doesnt sound like a good idea.

So you are saying that Recode can do it properly too? Is that software that you developed?

Well we should be able to do it properly but I have seen a few cases overseas where it just hasn't worked with some other brands so I always like to say 'should' . For some vehicles depending on the ECU type EDC16 or 17 or whatever the DPF setting can even be modified in the rom with the editing suite so you have a choice of a dedicated SW tool or the usual SW that you would modify the maps with - if you have either. In the case of the GT with its Siemens ECU its only the tool. This is only one type of ECU and there are many amongst all the Vehicles
And no not developed by me thats a lot of work in itself to do that OMG . You'd be better off doing each car on a case by case basis simple due to the effort required. The SW will look for a particular string within the file that is known to control the DPF function. It then modifies that. Modifying the takes about 3 seconds or about 2 minutes tops including stuffing around opening the laptop and drilling down through the directories.
If I ever had an issue with a modified file not working then I would simply send the original to one of my partners OS who use yet another brand of SW and I would use that and owe them a beer or two when I'm over there next . Always worked on the VAG stuff but as I've said before if the car was a Peugeot It might not
IMO wouldn't just rip out the DPF thinking your going to gain much though unless your after every last kW

    Cheers

    Mark

Just reading through the replies to this thread. Again, I have to say, Custom Code and Gav was awesome to deal with and the car has been bullet proof. No issues at all. If you love your GT sport like my wife does. Trust Gav with it and his proven record.

    My 2 cents.

No. A member got led on about that from a company other than Custom Code and its been a disaster. I'll leave it to him to comment, got the sad news via email yesterday. Not bringing anyone down but at this stage ONLY Custom Code have a proven solution.
