    That cable though, If I have a Micro-CAN VCDS cable, there's no benefit in getting one yeah?

    No. VCDS will do everything and more. You can use a ELM327 Bluetooth adapter with Torque (and whatever the iPhone equivalent is) on your phone.

    I assume the ELM327 will work on an older ODBII car, i.e. my wife's 2001
    Astra? I know thw VCDS HEX-CAN does

    Yeah ELM327 work with any (well almost any) OBD2 compatible car.. VAG Blocks wont though, use a generic OBD app for that.

    Hey dude.

    I have a BT ELM327 from fleaBay which I can connect to, but none of the programs on the CD seem to be able to communicate with it.

    Any tricks I should know about?
