I would regard 400K for a petrol and significantly more for a diesel, but I think we're living in the past if we think any modern car is going to be an economic proposition beyond 10 years and that's the spare parts timeline also.
The Europeans IIRC introduced 100% recycling for the very reason that cars are 'whitegoods' and the hyper tech is about boasting your placarded fuel consumption.
We're simply not meant to hang onto them, but the manufacturers won't admit it of course.

from most cars ive connected to the estimated life it around the 180k mark on dpf.

We have had them opened and cleaned out with good success at only the fraction of the cost of a new unit.

My MK 6 GTD has just brought up 123,281km as of last fill and is going good. At the 105,000 km service I asked for the DPF reading. The reading on the service sheet came back as ".06L, max being 0.46 ALL OK". The last 10,000km or so have been all around Brisbane with only two trips to the Gold Coast. I have noticed a few regens taking place and have had two interrupted regens in the last month or so. All seems normal so far.

270 is the max so far - half petrol life.

And it's current trade-in valuation is, say, 5K....and that's the problem if almost anything significant goes wrong.

Even if you do need to replace the dpf, its not necessarily the disaster it was years ago. There's a UK based company selling aftermarket replacement dpf's for all makes, on eBay, for a few hundred AUD.

Actually I'm more interested in kms and complexity/longevity/reliability as the DPF subject is covered to death elsewhere.
