High cetane diesel

BP Ultimate diesel typical 55CN min 50CN has been available in Perth. Brisbane rollout starts today. Going to try some to see what it does to the diesel clatter.

If they are rolling it out in Brisbane, I presume it is a nationwide rollout having ramped production....best to call or email BP and see. They said they could give status of particular sites.

I have a mate who works for BP, he was telling me about this new fuel. He said its already available in WA and should be rolled out Australia wide by the end of the year. He said its to meet new Govt standards and all the big oil co's will eventually have it.

I tried calling the station that BP said was getting an Ultimate Diesel conversion the next day (thinking it might have been installed already and I could confirm product availability before having to drive out). The guy who answered the phone new *nothing*. So the customer service rollout schedule may differ from the real world.

Have had one tank of BP Ultimate Diesel. Engine seemed purry smooth from about 2000rpm.

Have experimented and gone back to standard diesel. Engine sounds harsher to about 3000rpm. Can't wait to try another tank of Ultimate diesel (or track down a cetane improver for this tankful).

Added Morey's Diesel Smoke Killer which seems to have fixed the engine note harshness.
