    If you want cool shoo choo noises, remove the rear muffler (replace with straight pipe) and you will get blow off valve like noises when you suddenly come off boost. its quite funny.

    i guess it depends on where you live and whether particulates worry you or the effect on others.

    I live in the country so it wouldn't effect anyone to any significant degree but it's likely to be detected soon with tightening of emissions monitoring thanks to VWs diligent work.
    The risk is potential.
